How To Choose The Right PowerMAX FuelMAX V2 For Your Application

Step 1 — Choose from Plug & Play or Universal Single Wire splice in design.

JMS PowerMAX FuelMAX V2 Single and Dual Fuel Pump Voltage Boosters are offered in Plug and Play configurations for most 2011-2014 Ford applications, including 2011-2014 Mustang GT and Shelby GT500. Anyone can quickly and easily install JMS Plug & Play devices by un-plugging the OEM Fuel Pump Driver Module connectors and plugging the FuelMAX V2 in-line between the factory harness and Fuel Pump Driver Module. The 2011-2014 Mustang GT and V6 utilize a single Fuel Pump Driver Module, use part numbers: PM-2000-PPM11 or PM-2009-BOOST-PPM11. The 2011-2014 Shelby GT500 has two Fuel Pump Driver Modules, use part numbers: Part # PM-2020-PPS11 or PM-2029-BOOST-PPS11.

The universal PowerMAX FuelMAX V2 Fuel Pump Voltage Booster is designed for virtually any vehicle or fuel pump type, including all Ford, GM, Chrysler and Import vehicles. The universal design is most commonly used on pre-2011 Mustang and Shelby GT500 applications, or any GM, Dodge, Chrysler, or import vehicle applications. If you can cut and splice a single wire then you can quickly and easily install a universal PowerMAX FuelMAX V2 on your vehicle!

Vehicles that power a single fuel pump or FPDM when the key is turned to the on position use part number: PM-2000 or PM-2009-BOOST (Ford and most imports). GM and Chrysler vehicles OR any vehicle that has continuous power going to the FPDM regardless of key position use part number: PM-2000-GM or PM-2009-BOOST-GM for a single fuel pump application.

Vehicles that power dual fuel pumps or dual FPDM’s use part number: PM-2020 or PM-2029-BOOST. These are dual units with separate wiring and fuses for each fuel pump or FPDM.

Step 2 — Choose the type of device activation that works best for you.

JMS PowerMAX FuelMAX V2 Single and Dual Fuel Pump Voltage Boosters are offered with two different activation types.

  • Type 1 – Activate voltage boosting via Ground or a monitored 0-5 volt sensor signal.
    • Typically the ground method is the most common, with the activation via the included Hobbs switch kit (user adjustable from 3-7 psi, and pre-set at 5 psi).
    • 0-5 volt sensor signal monitor methods include monitoring the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure), TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), and MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor).
    • All Plug and Play Voltage Boosters include the optional harness to activate voltage boosting via the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor on all 2011-2014 Ford Vehicles.
    • Part numbers that support ground or 0-5v activation: PM-2000, PM-2000-GM, PM-2020PM-2000-PPM11 and PM-2020-PPS11.

JMS PowerMAX FuelMAX V2 Universal and Plug & Play Single and Dual Fuel Pump Voltage Boosters are also offered with a dedicated internal boost activation type that offers a range from 1-29 psi.

  • Type 2 – Activate via internal boost sensor (1-29psi)
    • This dedicated internal boost activation is designed to only read boost pressure and it will activate the unit based on your determined boost level.
    • These units do not allow for activation via ground, 0-5 volt signal, or accelerator pedal position sensor.
    • Part numbers that support internal boost activation: PM-2009-BOOST, PM-2009-BOOST-GM, PM-2009-BOOST-PPM11, PM-2029-BOOST, and PM-2029-BOOST-PPS11.

JMS Chip & Performance recently launched the next evolution of their popular PowerMAX® FuelMAX product. The new PowerMAX® FuelMAX V2 Fuel Pump Voltage Booster features exclusive JMS digital technology and is designed to provide up to an 85% increase in fuel delivery. The newly revised voltage booster is pre-engineered for use on most Ford vehicles; Mustang GT and V6, Shelby GT500, Boss 302, SVT Cobra, Focus, SVT Lightning, F-150 truck and SVT Raptor.
The JMS PowerMAX® FuelMAX V2 provides the highest continuous voltage and amperage output without noise, and is available in true 40-amp and 80-amp input fuse configurations. Another industry first includes the ability to choose how to enable the units voltage-boosting output. Two versions are available; one version activates the device via a built-in internal boost pressure sensor (1-29psi), and the other activates the boosted output via a Ground or a monitored 1-5-volt external signal (MAP, TPS or PPS sensor signal). The new device activation options allow you to choose the device that works best for your specific vehicle installation.

The recently updated PowerMAX® FuelMAX V2 has an all new proprietary enclosure and industrial heat-sink, featuring 10 gauge heavy-duty wiring and either 40 or 80 amp fuses along with a host of new and innovative features to further improve the user experience. The maximum output voltage range is user selectable (18.5 or 22 volts) and is controlled by a knob in the faceplate, or via the optional in-cabin over-ride control knob that adjusts voltage on the fly.

JMS is the only company to offer user-adjustable voltage ramp in and ramp out rates. This feature allows the user to correct and eliminate fuel pressure spikes that occur when fuel pump voltage is rapidly increased or decreased. You now have maximum control over the voltage ramp-in and ramp-out rate and depending on model, voltage can be controlled via time or boost pressure or it can be controlled via time or monitored voltage, and it’s easy to setup via simple to use knobs and switches.

PowerMAX® FuelMAX has user selectable maximum voltage ranges of 18 or 21 volts and output voltage is controlled by a simple control knob that adjusts up to 21 volts. You can also control the voltage ramp-in and ramp-out rate to correct or eliminate fuel pressure spikes to maximize performance and fuel delivery.  There’s also a voltage save feature that allows you to save the output setting during the tuning process so the control knob can also be disconnected, and your voltage setting cannot be modified.

JMS FuelMAX Fuel Pump Voltage Booster for 2011-2014 Shelby GT500 comes complete with everything you need for simple plug and play installation. The system is designed to install in the rear cargo area and the wiring harness for the control knob is long enough to mount in the driver area.  Just un-plug the OEM connectors and re-plug PowerMAX in-line at the Fuel Pump Driver Module and connect the ground using the factory hardware.  This product is a first of its kind in the market and by far the easiest pre-engineered solution available for increased fuel delivery.

The JMS 2.40″ Steel Supercharger Pulley features a durable black powder coating that won’t flake, chip or corrode and matches the OEM component for a factory look and feel.  For the do it yourself installer, JMS also offers a Supercharger Pulley Removal and Installation Tool that allows you to complete the installation right in your own garage using only basic hand tools.

To maximize performance, custom tuning is required for this upgrade and JMS offers complete tuning solutions via SCT X3 and SF3 Power Flash handheld programmers.  Owners who already have an SCT tuner can purchase the custom tune files for the 2.40″ Steel Supercharger Pulley, or you can purchase a custom tuned device pre-programmed with the required calibration files.  Other supercharger upgrade options from JMS include, dual ball-bearing 90mm idler pullers and overdrive balancers, for those looking to make further improvements to the SVT 5.8L engine.
