JMS Chip & Performance has just released their new PedalMAX™, the industry’s first and only complete solution designed to improve throttle response and improve driving characteristics on all 2015 Ford Mustangs. PedalMAX is easy to install, and plugs in-line between the vehicle’s throttle position sensor and vehicle harness, providing a huge improvement in throttle performance and responsiveness.

All Ford vehicles built today are equipped with a “drive-by-wire” electronic throttle. One of the biggest consumer complaints has been poor throttle response and throttle lag, especially in performance or racing applications. JMS PedalMAX™ is designed to improve throttle response on all 2011 and newer models, and is sure to please 2015 Mustang owners.

This first of its kind digital microprocessor-controlled device dramatically improves throttle reaction and acceleration on all Mustang applications. PedalMAX also removes turbo lag on 2.3L Ecoboost Mustangs, which improves low and mid-range power, and eliminates issues with poor performance while upshifting the manual transmission. V6 and 5.0L TiVCT V8 Mustangs not only get a big boost in responsiveness, but power also comes in much quicker, and shifting is considerably improved. Stalling is also virtually eliminated on manual transmission vehicles.

Other extended benefits include a seamless and warranty-friendly installation, advanced user throttle control via the optional control knob, and the device requires no aftermarket OBD-II tuning or programming. This innovative new product can also be stacked or used in conjunction with common aftermarket OBD-II programmers and monitors. For best results, JMS recommends combining PedalMAX with custom JMS/SCT 2015 Mustang tuning. PedalMAX™ can also be stacked in-line with JMS BoostMAX™ for 2015 2.3L Ecoboost Mustangs, providing a serious boost in horsepower and torque.

PedalMAX™ features exclusive JMS digital technology housed in a proprietary sealed enclosure, and comes complete with plug and play wiring harness using OEM connectors for quick installation. The complete system is designed to be used on any 2011-2015 Ford gas or diesel car, truck and SUV regardless of engine size and will improve the driving experience significantly while adding improved low and mid-range performance.

You just can’t go wrong with PedalMAX!  At least that what our customers have to say…  When we claim it offers a whole new driving experience we’re not kidding, and with just one quick tap of the throttle, we’re 100% sure you will agree.  Below are some of the recent comments we have received from JMS PedalMAX customers who are really enjoying their new and improved Ford and GM vehicles.  To learn more about PedalMAX, visit the product page on our website.

Email From JMS Dealer, MRT:
“We just installed PedalMAX on a new 2014 C7 Corvette and 2014 CTS-V. The results were beyond our expectations, considering up to this point we had only installed them of Ford vehicles. On the two GM cars we tested, the throttle response greatly improved with absolutely no lag! The C7 Corvette, while it’s a great car right out of the box, was better with regards to acceleration, shifting, and overall feel. The biggest improvement is the power and acceleration, which comes on much quicker now and honestly you need to take some time to get used to it. With the knob set at 100%, you better be prepared because it’s a whole new experience and the car is much quicker! The CTS-V we tested had the same results as the Vette, much quicker and loads of fun to drive now. I expect the V6 and V8 Camaro owners are going to be all over it when we get the word out. Great job on this new product!

Email From a 2015 Mustang Beta-Tester:
“We just installed PedalMAX on our 2015 Mustang with 2.3L Ecoboost engine and all we can say is WOW!  You immediately notice the better throttle response and the car does not fall on its face during the first to second gear shift.  Secondly, the power comes on much quicker, power feels much stronger, and all the turbo-lag is completely gone.” — 2015 SEMA Mustang recipient – Detroit, MI

Message From Steve Turner, Editor-in-Chief, SVTPerformance.com:
“I wanted to drive the car for a little while to see if there were any downsides to the PedalMax, and I am happy to report that there aren’t any. The big difference is there is little if any turbo lag. If you lay into it off idle, the boost comes in almost immediately. It also feels like the car has even more torque all the way through the mid-range.  The difference is somewhat comparable to the addition of the tune to the car, which on my car was like 60 lb-ft. It might not feel quite as good as 60, but 30 wouldn’t be a stretch. Also, I may be imagining it, but it seems as though it cleaned up a little off-idle stumble the car had on cold-start.” — S Turner, Lakeland, FL

Message from Jeff Lacina, 2013 One Lap of America Winner:
“The JMS PedalMAX is very easy to install…  I even had my 16 year-old son install it on my 2011 Mustang GT.  On the street, the PedalMAX made my car easier to drive around town and the revised throttle mapping eliminated the stock “throttle hang”, making it easier to shift and more fun to drive.  On the road course, the throttle response felt more linear and direct.  It took a few laps for me to get used to the improved responsiveness, but after that, it was game on and felt great.” – J Lacina, Olathe, KS

Message on Mustang Forum:
Just installed a JMS PedalMax unit and I have to say it is the best money I have spent on my 2014 Mustang GT! It took 5 minutes to install and holy crap! The car LEAPS off the line now and just feels “fixed!”

If you feel like your throttle response isn’t quite what it should be- purchase and install this unit. All I can say is it’s just a night and day difference. My throttle has always lagged a bit, which can be a real pain since I drive my 6MT in bumper to bumper traffic every day.

The Ford Racing ProCal tune, which I had installed over a year ago is supposed to “fix” the throttle lag, and it does somewhat, but it’s still there. Plus it seems to screw up the idle a bit, and Ford Racing promised to get back to me on that issue and never did. An idle calibration made things a little better, but the RPMs still nose-dived on occasion.

One drive with the JMS unit installed, and the car just feels exactly right! In fact, it feels a little scary when I put it into SportTrac mode, or whatever it’s called. I’m not sure how the thing works, it seems to be just a small board hooked up to a 25 pin connector, but I’ve read that it boosts the voltage of the signal sent from the accelerator to the throttle body. Whatever it does, it really is quite grin producing and I’m a lot happier with my 5.0, and I may have to purchase one for our F150. It seems to increase the idle speed just a tiny bit, and it takes all the tentativeness out of the throttle. You tap it and the hounds are instantly released!

Not any review I could find on this site, other than someone asking about it a month or so ago and a few people suggesting it was a gimmick. If anyone else has this thing installed, I’d be curious to see if your results are similar. The main thing JMS talks about is “fixing the tendency to stall” when taking off from a stop with the manual. I’ve always been able to manage in that regard, but it definitely does make it a lot easier to take off. When I back into our driveway, I’m going uphill, and that’s where the poor throttle response would make things most challenging, but no more!
